Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Dorothy Alberta Doyle, 78, of Big Lake, died at her home on Oct. 13, 2001.
A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at the Crossroads Community Church, 7010 E. Bogard Road, in Palmer, with the Rev. Sondra Markwardt officiating.
Mrs. Doyle's ashes will be scattered over Denali National Park.
Mrs. Doyle was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Seaford, Va. She came to Alaska in 1963, residing in Anchorage until 1989, then moving to Big Lake, where she resided until the time of her death.
Her hobbies and special interest included hunting, fishing, biking, walking and reading.
According to her husband: "Dot is the love of my life. She was my friend and a wonderful companion for almost 30 years."
Mrs. Doyle is survived her husband, Franklin R. Doyle of Big Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bruce Moran of Winthrop, Wash.; grandson, Charles Esarey Jr. of Seattle; and half-brother, Steven Townsend of Treasure Island, Wash.
Memorial donations may be made to Big Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Big Lake AK 99652.
