Dorothy R. Wagner, December 2, 1929 — February 18, 2022. Dorothy Riley Wagner died peacefully in Leesburg, FL on 2/18/22. Dorothy was born to Einar and Mary Riley in Charleroi, PA. She and Ralph, her husband of 67 years, were married on August 13, 1949. They had four children, Eileen, Neil, Philip and Janet. She had an adventurous soul and loved to travel. Ralph’s career took them to many places over the years. They moved from Pittsburgh to Delafield WI, Fort Bragg NC, Brecksville OH, and Anchorage and Palmer, AK, making lifelong friends along the way. Dorothy and Ralph came to Alaska in 1990 when Ralph was called upon to be the Interim Rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Anchorage. They moved to Palmer, AK to serve at St. Bartholomew Church until 2000. After retirement, they became “snowbirds” spending their winters in Leesburg, FL.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Eileen and Robert Schuster of Pittsburgh, PA and her daughter, Janet and Roger Boshears of Wasilla, AK; 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren and 4 Great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph F. Wagner of Palmer, AK; their sons, Neil S. Wagner of Chugiak, AK and Philip B. Wagner of Wasilla, AK. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Palmer at 11:00 a.m. on March 12, 2022. The inurnment of her ashes will take place at the Monongahela Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA in April.
