Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities invites the public to attend an open house from 4 to 7 p.m., May 22 at the Palmer Train Depot.
Discussion will feature the Glenn Highway project, including an update. Design is underway to add lanes, widen shoulders, and accommodate turning movements at designated turn pockets and other traffic and safety improvements from Mile 34 to Mile 42. The improvements are needed to accommodate increasing levels of traffic. Right of way acquisition is necessary in some places to accommodate the new width of the road and the project team has begun the process of working with property owners.
