WASILLA — The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities announced upcoming road projects that my impact traffic.
DOT listed the Parks Highway at Hyer Road, West Fairview Loop at West Jackfish Road and Old Matanuska Road south of Mikey Court on its Facebook pages as areas with scheduled work.
“A DOT&PF contractor will be repairing three sites in upcoming days. All three were damaged in the (Nov. 30) earthquake and need to be repaired now to prevent further deterioration of the infrastructures,” DOT officials said in the post.
The Hyer Road off ramp along the northbound lane of the Parks Highway will be closed during the work, and the use of either Trunk Road or Seward Meridian is recommended. Drivers are asked to be alert for lane closures in the other two areas.
