WASILLA — John McDonald enjoyed a record-breaking run, but a blown tire kept him from a win during the sprint car feature race at North Star Speedway in Wasilla Saturday night.
McDonald broke the sprint car record for the paved quarter-mile oval during his qualifying run, before the blown tire in the feature race.
Tyler McDonald was able to take advantage and race to the win.
Keith Jones (thunderstocks) and Andy Workman (legends) also scored wins Saturday.
James White was the winner of the stock class main event during racing action at Capitol Speedway in Willow on Saturday. Brenda Clemmons finished first in the main event of the hobby stock class.
