PALMER — Five people were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries resulting from a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.
Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol arrived around 4:30 p.m. at an accident scene at the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Creekwood Street in Palmer.
Traffic on the highway was stopped in both directions for about an hour while troopers investigated.
Troopers say a 1986 blue Ford Bronco driven by Greg Alan Long, 32, of Palmer was struck from behind by a 1991 gray Ford Explorer driven by Alicia Marie Keller, 21, of Wasilla after Long had stopped to turn left onto Creekwood Street.
Keller’s vehicle then pushed Long’s into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a 2002 white Kia passenger van operated by Nora Edith Thomas, 24, of Palmer, according to the AST report.
All occupants reported wearing seat belts and all vehicles were totaled.
Keller was cited for negligent driving and a failing to carry proof of insurance.
Keller also was cited for failing to exercise due care when she allegedly rear-ended another driver on May 29, for which she received a $160 citation.
