Dunleavy administration submits transition report to Trump Transition HQ

As President-elect Donald Trump rounds out the members of his administration and works on his transition back to the White House, Governor Mike Dunleavy and his administration have submitted their own transition report to Trump’s team.

The report, titled “Alaska Priorities for Federal Transition” details both immediate and long-term actions that can be taken to reverse the impact of more than 60 sanctions the Biden administration imposed on Alaska, and how unlocking Alaska’s minerals, oil and natural gas, and other natural resources will benefit both the state and national economy.

In the transition cover letter, Governor Dunleavy tells President-elect Trump, “Your election will hail in a new era of optimism and opportunity, and Alaska stands ready to and is eager to work with you to repair this damage wrought by the previous administration, and to set both Alaska and America on a course to prosperity.”

The Governor also asks for an Alaska-specific Executive Order to be issued the first day that the President-elect takes office, starting with restoring Alaska’s authority over wildlife, lands, and water and completing the transfer of lands promised back in 1959 and reversing lockdowns on Alaska’s resources and opening ANWR and the Ambler Mining District.

“As Governor of the Great State of Alaska, I look forward to working with you, Mr. President, on all of your initiatives to make both Alaska and America great again,” the governor wrote.
