Governor-elect Mike Dunleavy has made his first appointments. Republican Party chairman Tuckerman Babcock will be Dunleavy's chief of staff and will also head the transition team, while Brett Huber, who managed Dunleavy's campaign, will be senior policy advisor in the transition. Huber was working as staff in the Alaska Legislature and was chief of staff to Sen. Rick Halford, R-Chugiak, when Halford was in the Senate.
The appointments were announced Thursday at the Alaska Miners Association annual conference being held in Anchorage.
More appointments will be announced soon, Dunleavy told the miners.
Dunleavy was elected in the Tuesday, Nov. 6 Alaska general election.
