WASILLA — A Valley business executive is among four people appointed to Governor-elect Mike Dunleavy’s cabinet and staff.
Adam Crum has been named Commissioner of Health and Social Services, by Dunleavy, who will be officially sworn in as governor Dec. 3 in Noorvik.. Crum is the executive vice president for Northern Industrial Training, a Palmer-based business.
“In his career, Crum has managed large teams and multi-million dollar budgets for projects all over Alaska. Crum’s strengths are strategic planning and organizational development that helps groups realize efficiencies and refocus on mission-driven services,” Dunleavy’s transition team wrote in a press release issued Monday.
Crum, a Homer native, has a degree in psychology from Northwestern and a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins.
Crum ran for public office in 2016 as part of a race in the primary for Senate Seat F. Sen. Shelly Hughes won the race for the seat, which was vacated by former senator Bill Stoltze.
Jonathan Quick, chief of staff to Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor Charlie Pierce, has been named Commissioner of Education. Dunleavy tabbed Donna Arduin and Director of Office of Management and Budget. Jason Brune was named Commissioner of Environmental Conservation.
