Eagle project helps Afghan children

To the editor:

I am working on my Eagle Scout service project called Operation Education.

The project is intended to provide school materials for underprivileged school children in Kabul, Afghanistan. It is hoped that in addition to helping with the students’ education, it will promote peace and goodwill between the Afghan children and America. Several local businesses have contributed to this cause, and I would like to publicly thank them here.

They include Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Carrs, L&B Printing and Alpine Chiropractic. I would also like to thank Wasilla High School and Colony High School for helping in this effort.

Also, many thanks to the many individuals who have contributed who are too numerous to name. The project is still ongoing. If any of your readers would like to contribute, they may please visit operationeducationafghanistan.blogspot.com.
