Born in Montebello, Calif., on Dec. 8, 1961, she became an Alaska resident in 1962. During her life she was away from Alaska for 16 years, but returned to what she always considered her home, and lived here in Alaska from 1988 to the present.
Her family wrote, "She was an animal lover, a people lover, and had deep compassion for others. She was a person who, when she walked into a room, energized the room. There was never a dull moment with Jeanne. She touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed."
She is survived by her husband, Bill Schoppe; three daughters, Alisha, Megan and Dorothy; three grandchildren, Aliah, Corbin and Lexi; parents, Bill and Dorothy Attwood; seven brothers and three sisters, and aunts and uncles in California.
