WASILLA — The tough start to the 2015 season continued for the Wasilla Warriors Friday evening.
East Anchorage scored 14 unanswered points to post a 20-7 nonconference win over the Warriors at Veterans Memorial Field.
Wasilla (0-2) held a 7-6 halftime lead. With East leading 6-0, Jaden Walkenmeyer caught an Aeron Milleron touchdown pass to put the Warriors on the scoreboard.
East was able to strike twice in the second half, while keeping the Warriors off the scoreboard. V.J. Vea rumbled for a 28-yard touchdown in the third to give the T-Birds the lead. Carson Washburn added a two-point conversion to put East up 14-7. Cley Openiano added a 9-yard score in the fourth for East Anchorage.
East, which edged Colony 14-13 last week, improved to 2-0. Wasilla suffered a lopsided loss to Service in Week 1.
