Easter performance of the ‘Messiah’ is today
The 21st annual Mat-Su Community Easter program is from 6 to 7 p.m., today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 901 Bogard Road. This year, the event includes the annual Mat-Su Community Messiah performance, which has occurred at Christmas time in the past. The free service also will include traditional Easter hymns sung by the congregation, performances by local choirs and narration of the Easter story from the Bible.
The First Presbyterian Church in Wasilla, 1375 E. Bogard Road, is performing a free dramatization of “The Last Supper” at 7 p.m., Thursday. Everyone is welcome.
First Baptist Church of Wasilla has planned an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Saturday.
Big Lake Baptist Church has planned an Easter egg hunt from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday for children ages 1 through fifth grade.
Easter Bunny at Wasilla Senior Center Saturday
Pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny is from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Wasilla Senior Center off Knik-Goose Bay Road. Tickets are $5 per person, or $20 for a family of up to six people. Ticket includes a photo with the Easter Bunny. Proceeds benefit the local CCS Early Learning Centers. For more information, contact 745-4040.
