Frontiersman Editorial

We admit it.

Even in today's world where the public watches the media's actions through a microscope, we still couldn't resist the bionic lure of being bigger, stronger, faster.

No asterisk about it, we've been juicing, pumping up the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman online, www.frontierman.com. We're cramming unnaturally large doses of local news online, and we're not sorry about it.

In fact, we'd do it again.

The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman will debut its newly redesigned Web site Tuesday, but you can take a sneak peek now. Visit www.frontiersman.com and click on &#8220Sneak Peek” to tour the new site. In addition to a more open, airy feel, the new Frontiersman online is more useful and interactive.

Photos are bigger and there are more of them. While the thrice-weekly print edition of your hometown newspaper is limited by space, online is the place to be to see more photos, expanded coverage and find more fun things to do in Southcentral Alaska.

A new feature is photo galleries to spotlight more from the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman's award-winning photographers. In any given newspaper, a story may have one or two - sometimes three - photos, while an online gallery is limitless for readers to see which images didn't make it to print.

Stories relating to your personal interests are easier to find and read. Whether you're a sports fan, can't miss the local opinions and letters to the editor, enjoy the lighter side of the news or our weekly entertainment and arts guide &#8220Bullseye,” it's at the click of your mouse.

We're your hometown newspaper and bringing you local news is always our No. 1 priority, but we also understand you like to peer out the window at what's happening in the world. That's why we've added the Associated Press online.

There's also a story tracker that tells you which online stories are most popular, and you can view an image of the front page of the latest edition of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.

We are giving our online readers what they've been asking for: full content. Yes, even the ever-popular Police Beat.

Take the sneak peek, then visit us daily for breaking news and the new site beginning next Tuesday.
