Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Edna Kathleen Linderman, 52, died March 1, 2005 at her home in Palmer, of cancer. A service was held Saturday, March 5, at Valley Open Bible Fellowship, 14251 Jojoba Dr., Big Lake, at 3 p.m. Pastor Ed Blocker officiated.
Ms. Linderman was born Nov. 6, 1952, in Logansport, Ind. She attended Logansport High School.
She began her Alaska residency in 2001, and lived in Houston for one year before settling in Palmer. Ms. Linderman worked as a flagger in Washington, for Wal-Mart in Oklahoma, and for Fred Meyer in Wasilla.
She went to Valley Open Bible Fellowship. Ms. Linderman loved to cross-stitch and being with her grandkids.
Her family wrote, "Edna was one of nine children, so she was very family-oriented. Edna was always quick to help out where needed. Edna was very creative and loved to decorate. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to go gold panning."
She is survived by her son, Joe Brewer of Logansport, Ind.; daughter, Tamatha Marie Slizeski of Palmer; granddaughters, Brieana Brewer of Logansport, Ind. and Christine Vanderiff of Palmer; grandsons, Austin Len Slizeski of Palmer and Dominic Vanderiff of Palmer; mother, Helen Stamper of Palmer; sisters, Olivia Stewart of Palmer, Teresa Myers of Houston, Rebecca Stamper of Palmer; brothers, Scott Stamper of Panama City, Panama, David Stamper of Houston, Clay Stamper of Eureka, Calif. and Mark Stamper of Roy, Wash.
She had a large extended family, with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Linderman was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Stamper; stepfather, Leonard Nelson, and her brother, Ted Stamper. The family will be scattering her ashes over Pioneer Peak in the spring.
