EDWARD McCORMICK

Wasilla resident Edward McCormick was found dead at his home on April 2, 2001.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 323 N. Alaska St., in Palmer, with Deacon Mandrell officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Johnson, Eric Jones, Wally Carlo, Art Wetland, Ed Gurther and Gary Alcock.

Honorary pallbearers were Ken Clark, Henry Parker, John Littlefield, Victor Carlo and William Carlo Jr. Following a reception in the lower level of the church, interment was in the veterans' section of the Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.

Mr. McCormick was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Rampart, to Lucy Pitka Carlo and Edward McCormick. He attended Eklutna Vocational School near Anchorage.

He was a pilot and an operating engineer, and worked throughout the state.

His family said: "He loved to fish, fly and hunt, especially along the Yukon. He was a beloved friend to many and he will be missed."

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Woodrow Clemens, Charlie Carlo, Bill Carlo and Frank Carlo, and sister Mary Carlo Parker.

Survivors are his sister, Martha (Monte) Carlo Littlefield of Sitka; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including: Marie Parker Clark, Henry Parker, Martha Parker, Dee Dee, Curtis, Norman, Claude, Manny, William, Kenny, Wally, Lucy, Victor and Danny Carlo, Gail Matthews, Ruby Haske, Arlene Sheden, Rosie Yaeger-Lund, Diane Carlo Scott, Dorothy Hertlein, Kathy Kendall, Martha Barren, Ann Breazeale, Becky Clark, Pat Younack, and John, Terry and Dana Littlefield. He is also survived by the following families: Carlo, Notti, Parker, Hundorf, Littlefield, Knox, Pitica, Harper, Minook, Kangus.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home of Wasilla.
