January 25, 1926 - March 15, 2026 Eleanora Ann Frisby Born January 25th 1926 who just recently celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family, passed peacefully, comforted by loved ones after a short, sharp decline just after midnight Sunday, March 15th 2026. Known to many who loved her dearly as ‘Norie’, Eleanora was born in Macomb County, Michigan to Loyd O Cleveland and Florence M (Covey)Cleveland. The eldest of 6, Evelyn, Jim, Virgil, and Luella all preceded her in death, save her last surviving sister Ruth, who survived her by one day, passing on March 16th 2026 in Michigan. Eleanora married Robert H Frisby on June 2nd, 1946. While living in Michigan The couple were blessed with their first five children; Robert (deceased 2002), Larry, James, Jeanne Nichols (deceased 2021) and Daniel. In 1958 The Frisbys moved with their small family to Alaska, living in Chugiak for a short time before filing on a homestead claim in Chickaloon. In 1963 they moved to Farm Loop Road and into the Faith Hill Farm House. This is where they would settle for good; losing their final stillborn daughter Ruth Ann in 1964, then welcoming their final son, Steven, a couple years later. Eleanora gained her License as a Practical Nurse and worked at the Valley Hospital, then as one of the first team of nurses at the Palmer Veterans and Pioneer Home. Eleanora was a caregiver at heart, a loving woman who loved Jesus and was an example of Dying to Self. She was a poet and a musician, a matriarch and a peacemaker. Bob and Eleanora shared their land with their children and grandchildren to start and grow their own families, built their retirement dream house and donated the land to build Farm Loop Christian Center, to be a place devoted to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be an educational center for their grandchildren. The couple reveled in family gatherings with children and their ever growing brood of grandchildren, were involved continually with their church and enjoyed traveling through their initial retirement years. True to their vows, they cared for each other in sickness and health, Eleanora nursed Robert at home through his terminal cancer diagnosis, until death parted them on 1994. Eleanora lived a lifetime, thirty years, after the passing of her husband. She remained active in her church, community and family. She traveled, quilted, gardened and contributed much time to her farm loop church community, participating in music programs as well as prison outreach programs just to name a couple. Eleanora lived a long life in her own home as independently as possible for as long as possible, in her 90s accepting live in accompaniment and care. Only during her last year did she require the level of care that relocated her to the Palmer Pioneer Home, who we the family would like to thank for their steadfast and honorable care and compassion for our beloved Norie during her time there. Eleanora was interred at Pioneer Cemetery in Palmer, AK on 3/19/26. We invite any and all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her memory and life at a Memorial Service held at her church, Farm Loop Christian Center on Sunday May 24th 2026 from 1pm-4pm Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord.
