An Emmonak man, who was part of a single-vehicle accident near Palmer in late July, has died from his injuries.

Alex Duny, 22, was riding in the bed of a 2012 Dodge pickup that struck a tree, according to the Alaska State Troopers. AST responded to Maud Road near Jim Lake at about 6:40 a.m. July 24. Troopers said the driver of the vehicle struck the tree after swerving to avoid a moose. Alcohol was a contributing factor, troopers said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Troopers released the news of Duny’s death in a dispatch report published Tuesday.
