Ending off-peak power program would quadruple electric rates

To the editor:

MEA has applied to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to discontinue its Off-Peak Thermal Storage Program. To those customers on the program, this letter is the only means of contacting you to tell you that the RCA comment period has begun and that it will end on March 23.

For privacy concerns I was not given your names in order to get in touch with you personally. If you are in the program, please send comments regarding Docket TA 396-18 to RCA before March 23. This is important because if this filing is approved it appears that it means a quadrupling of the rates we pay for off-peak electricity.
