Enstar hike legal robbery

A final decision by RCA on Enstar’s 20-percent rate hike will be made by Oct. 31, and RCA (Regulatory Commission of Alaska) is not taking comments on its Web site as to the fairness of this rate hike.

The back room profit makers (Conoco-Phillips and Marathon Oil) decide they can extract even more profit from us and so tell Enstar what they demand. Enstar throws up its hands and says, “What can we do?,” and consumers are again robbed legally.

The $1,200 energy rebate from Palin is not a statewide energy plan and with a Canadian gas line we will still be held up!

Oh, it’s legal to charge what they can get.

Our rural people, our economy and even Anchorage will suffer unless we control our own energy prices. Alaska needs its own refinery for state needs; gasoline, diesel and a liquefaction natural gas plant that can provide fairly priced products to rural areas and our major population center.

If we let the governor and legislators keep doing the same thing, we will get the same result: higher and higher prices for energy and everything else.
