If you want to enter an exhibit in the Alaska State Fair, the process is an easy one.
There are no entry fees to pay, said vendor and exhibit director Pamella Meekin Troutman.
You do need a lifetime exhibit number -- a number assigned to you forever, "no matter if you enter a cow or flowers," Troutman said. Getting one is as easy as dropping off your entry.
Make sure to check out the exhibitor guide to get the right deadlines and locations for the particular exhibit you want to enter.
Then, just show up with your entry, fill out the entry form and wait for the fair to see if you take home a ribbon.
"People have already started asking about the exhibiting," Troutman said. "Things are getting started."
