ERNESTINE ARLEAN LOPEMAN

Ernestine A. Lopeman, 63, a resident of Beverly, Wash., died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the home of her son, Wade, in Maple Valley, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Big Lake at 7 p.m. Sept. 1.

Mrs. Lopeman was born Sept. 10, 1941, in Longview, Wash., to Ernest and Arlean Vance.

At the age of 12, Mrs. Lopeman and her family moved to Othello, Wash., to farm acreage her father received in a GI entitlement. On Nov. 27, 1964, she married Darrel Vern Lopeman and they made their home in Maple Valley, Wash.

Mrs. Lopeman worked many years as production worker.

Her family wrote, "Ernestine (Bobbi) was an avid race car fan and her voice could be heard above the roar of the crowd as her husband drove below on the track.

"In later years, her enthusiasm continued as she attended many NASCAR races while traveling the country in their bus.

"Finally, they made their home in Beverly, Wash., part time in Big Lake. Her passion for racing was only superseded by her devotion to family. Bobbi had a very sweet spirit and never knew a stranger.

"She was gentle but bold about sharing her deep love of God with many who crossed her path. She genuinely cared about people."

Mrs. Lopeman is survived by her loving husband, Darrel Vern Lopeman of Big Lake; four sons, Gregory Lopeman and his wife, Allison, of Maple Valley, Wash., Todd Lopeman and his wife, Melody, of Kittitas, Wash., Wade Lopeman and his wife, Sarah, of Maple Valley, Wash., and Darrel Dean Lopeman and his wife, Eileen, of Moses Lake, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Kim (Robin) Larsen of Las Vegas, Bonny Lopeman of Las Vegas, and Mrs. Kevin (Shari) Alexander of Allen, Wash.

Mrs. Lopeman is also survived by her 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolene Vance Lund of Yakima, Wash.; three nieces; four nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
