EUGENE S. BANKS JR.

Eugene S. Banks Jr., son of Eugene S. Banks Sr. and Fannie Kate Couch Banks, was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Senoia, Ga. He departed this life Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in his home, near Climax Springs, Mo., at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

On Oct. 20, 1961, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Browning, and to this union one son was born.

His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Banks is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathryn, of the home; daughter Petra Szemeredy and her husband Michael of Tampa, Fla.; son David Banks and his wife Silvia of Climax Springs, Mo.; three brothers, Richard Banks of Georgia, Reginald Banks of Georgia, and Douglas Banks of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Wesley and Walter Browning, both of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was born and raised in Senoia, Ga., and graduated from the East Coweta High School in the Class of 1950. He then entered the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully from September 1951 until September 1971. After retiring from the Air Force, he and Kathryn made their home in Alaska until moving to Climax Springs in 1996.

In his spare time he enjoyed collecting coins and feeding wild animals. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed being with his children.

His family said, "Eugene was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him."

Services are under the direction and care of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Mo. Private family services will be held at a later date.
