WASILLA — Mark Ewing’s campaign for Lt. Governor is over without having lasted a month.
Ewing, a borough assemblyman representing the Wasilla area, announced his intent to seek the job of second-in-command for the state in early April.
On Thursday, about a month shy of the June 1 filing deadline to run for state races, he announced he was removing his hat from that ring. Ewing said he would instead campaign for Mead Treadwell.
“I will be supporting a man with the experience and background to more effectively fast track the new all Alaskan Gas Line and produce an LNG product to supply the Asian market.
“Doing what’s best for the people of Alaska will always be my main concern,” Ewing said.
