To the editor:
After 49 years in the grocery business, I retired on July 31. In 1964, I started at as a box boy at D&A Super in Palmer (where the In & Out and Pizza Delphi are now) with the Frank family, and began cutting meat in 1968.
I have worked at Koslosky’s in Palmer, Fisher’s Y Grocery with Steve Fish, at Omni Foods in Kenai, Mr. Prime Beef in Fairbanks and Anchorage with Gordy Larson and his sister Pat Muzzana, and 20 years with Carr’s then Carr’s/Safeway in Eagle River and Palmer. I have enjoyed my career in the meat cutting business.
Over the years I have met a lot of wonderful and nice customers and coworkers, many who became very loyal customers and good friends. I wanted to let all my customers know that I greatly appreciate everyone’s smiles, greetings, hugs and support throughout the years. Your kind gestures have always meant so much to me. I am retiring so that I have more time to “goof off,” work on hobbies, travel and enjoy life. I will be seeing you around the Valley!
Thank you all very much.
