Monday was National Fentanyl Awareness and Prevention Day across the country, and to help continue working on fentanyl awareness, one mother will be holding a fundraiser to continue
Julie Taylor, who lost her son Taegge Lee to fentanyl poisoning in 2021, is hosting ‘Taeggeapolousa’ on Sunday. The vintage and boutique style fundraiser will have all kinds of fun clothing and accessories, along with Naloxone kits and demonstrations on the proper administration of the lifesaving medicine.
“We are raising money fentanyl awareness and education. Narcan kits and demonstration will be available for free. Come visit, shop and have cupcakes and Gourmet hot dogs”
Taylor says that among her son’s passions for flying and art, that one of Taegge’s favorite pastimes was going to thrift shops to find and add pieces of vintage clothing to create his own unique style.
“This is why we chose a clothing event for the fundraiser,” says Taylor.
The fashion fundraiser will offer boho, vintage, modern, and teen items, and promises to have something fashionable for everyone.
“Help fight fentanyl fashionably!”
50 % of proceeds from the event will go to the AK Fentanyl Response Project and 50% will go to a special project close to Taylor’s heart.
“We are taking Taegge to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. It’s a dream that’s been a long time coming.”
The fundraiser is set to take place at 134 E. Auklet Avenue in Palmer on Sunday, August 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
