ANCHORAGE — A rollover accident on the Glenn Highway Wednesday afternoon in the Eklutna Flats area, left one person dead, injured three others and briefly closed the highway.

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m., June 18 and the highway was closed in both directions as emergency crews cleared a landing area for a helicopter. As of 2 p.m. three lanes were open with one northbound lane closed for officers to conduct their investigation.

The helicopter that landed on the road took a patient from the crash to an Anchorage hospital in critical condition, according to Anchorage Police Department Spokeswoman Dani Myren.

Two others were rushed to the hospital in ambulance, though police believe their injuries were not life-threatening. A fourth was declared deceased on scene.
