On Sunday evening, Alaska State Troopers, along with Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to reports of a snowmachine accident in Big Lake.
AST responded around 5:36 p,m. on February 25, reporting that David Nose, 26, of Wasilla, was riding a 2003 Polaris RMK 700, traveling on the Big Lake Ice Road near the Burkeshore Marina, when he collided with a Ram 3500 flatbed pickup that had been parked. High speed is a suspected factor in the collision.
AST says that Nose was declared deceased at the scene after efforts from responding EMS were attempted. According to authorities, Nose was not wearing a helmet. No one else was reported injured.
Next of kin was notified by AST. His body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
This is a developing story.
