WASILLA — Joshua Croghan, 34, seeks the public’s help in locating his 13-year-old son, Joshua Soosuk, who was last seen Thursday, Feb. 3 at Wasilla Middle School.
“It’s been a nightmare,” the worried father said. “Right now all I care about is for him to come home.”
He was supposed to come home on the bus that afternoon, but never made it, Croghan said.
A bus driver for the district told the boy’s father he dropped him off at a friend’s house after school, he said. That student told Croghan that his son left his house about 5 p.m., Thursday and said he was going to walk to Anchorage to clear his head.
“I’ve been out there looking for my son until 2 or 3 in the morning every night since then,” his worried father said.
He said he’s spent all the money he has driving back and forth to Anchorage and up the Parks Highway toward Talkeetna looking for his son Joshua.
Croghan said he’s already checked with the hospital, Mat-Su Youth detention facility and at local funeral homes. He said he plans to call the medical examiner’s office next.
“I’m not ready to bury my son yet,” Croghan said.
The boy is Alaska Native, 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing blue jeans, black and white shoes, a fleece-lined plaid shirt and a Native Pride hat.
“Overall, he’s a straight A student,” Croghan said. “He was happy and everything and all of a sudden he’s gone.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Joshua Croghan at 357-9461 or 775-9474.
“I’m hoping there is someone with him right now who will call me and let me know that he’s OK and on his way home,” the father said.
