Fay E. Wyckoff (Douds) went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 21, 2022.
Fay was born August 18, 1933 in the Pittsburgh, PA area to David and Blanche Douds. She had two younger sisters: Ruth Cattley and Edith Panormious.
After completing her education, she became a registered nurse and worked in the pediatric ward at Pittsburgh General Hospital. Later she transferred to the hospital at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where she met a patient that was to become the love of her life, Lynton Wyckoff. They soon married in 1958.
In 1968 they made their way to Alaska with three young children in tow: Dana, Cheryl and Kevin. Lyn and Fay answered the calling to become missionaries in Alaska and started their work in Wasilla, AK. They developed several churches throughout their many years, as well as hosting Bible Camps in villages and running an aviation ministry. Fay truly loved being Lyn’s right-hand partner in the growth of their ministry and other endeavors and incredible adventures.
She is preceded in death by Lynton Wyckoff in September 2016, and survived by her three children, Dana Ness, Cheryl Frazier (Duncan) and Kevin Wyckoff (Lisa), and four beautiful grandchildren: Brittany Carroll, Christopher, Ryan and Kaitlyn Wyckoff.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 1 p.m. at Manna Baptist Church, 10151 Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Palmer Alaska. The service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Cardin. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Manna Baptist Church, Missions Program, in honor of Lyn and Fay Wyckoff’s lifelong dedication and passion to missionary outreach in Alaska.
