The FBI Anchorage Field Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for vandalizing the Alaska Heart Reach Pregnancy Care Center in Wasilla.
In a press release from the FBI, the office reports that on October 20, at approximately 12:20 a.m., the individual approached the Heart Reach Center and spray-painted approximately 10 swastika symbols on the building and dropped nails in the parking lot.
Security footage of the incident shows the individual wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt over a black hooded sweatshirt, and a light-colored face covering.
This is not the first time the center has been targeted by vandals. Just over a year ago, vandals struck the center and the Wasilla Bible Church on the eve of the annual fundraiser held at the church to benefit the center, spraying “Not a clinic” in black on all of the exterior walls of the building as well as the garage. The vandals also sprayed the security cameras and obstructed the door locks with glue or silicone
Heart Reach Director Joyce Moropoulous said at the time that the vandalism wasn’t the first time she has been a victim of vandalism.
“I believe it was meant to frustrate and take away attention from what we provide, which is pregnancy care and health services.”
Alaska Heart Reach Center is a nonprofit organization that offers free and confidential services to men, women, and families, providing medical services include pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasounds, STI/STD testing and treatment, abortion pill reversal and options education.
If anyone has any information concerning the identity of this individual, please contact the FBI's Anchorage Field Office at (907) 276-4441, or submit a tip online at www.tips.fbi.gov.
