Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Felicia Annette Bussing, 13, died as the result of a tragic accident at her home March 19, 2005. A memorial service will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, in the library of Wasilla Middle School. Floral arrangements are welcome.
Felicia was born in Soldotna on Dec. 3, 1991. She also lived in Slana and later moved with her family to Wasilla. She was attending the seventh grade at Wasilla Middle School at the time of her death. She was an active member of the Wasilla Assembly of God Youth Group. She enjoyed climbing trees, singing and playing her guitar, the flute and the keyboards.
Her family wrote, "Felicia was a special girl with many talents. She was beautiful and so precious. She is loved and will be missed. Her own special quote read, 'To the world, you may be someone, but to someone, you may be the world.'"
Her grandmother, Donna Greene, and her sister, Amber Bussing, preceded her in death. She is survived by her father, James Avery, and mother, Elizabeth Avery, both of Wasilla; brothers, Patrick Bussing of Nanwalek, James W. Avery of Wasilla and Emerald Ferguson of Kenai and a sister, Donna Avery of Wasilla. Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
