Few details emerge in Wasilla shooting

WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers remain tight-lipped about an investigation into a shooting last weekend that left two men hospitalized.

Trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said in an email sent Thursday that troopers are “following up on leads” in the case, which took place Saturday, Oct. 17 on North Charley Drive. Ipsen said one of the victims — neither of whom has been publicly identified by police — was released from the hospital, while the other was still receiving treatment. She said she wasn’t able to get any information on the man’s condition.

No arrests have been made so far. Ipsen said authorities believe the shooting was related to drugs.

“It doesn’t appear to be a random act,” she wrote.
