To the editor:
While reading about what Mayor Larry DeVilbiss is planning on doing, it came to mind that a great leader of this country once said government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.
Also, the Mat-Su Borough shall not perish from the earth.
These grants have always been there for whoever the state wants to give them to. Mayor DeVilbiss should understand that if the Mat-Su Borough isn’t on board a lot of people are going to be hurt.
For one thing, if the mayor wants to stop funds, then be at the next meeting and peacefully voice your idea.
Boycotting his farm and the vegetables he grows is wrong. The farm and vegetables has nothing to do with the funds he wants to cut. Get people to sign a petition to oust him from his job and then turn it in to the meeting and demand he step down. This way you are getting something done. Fight peacefully for what you want done.
