Hatcher Pass Thrift is celebrating their Fill A Bag Galentine’s Event this Friday and Saturday February 6th and 7th. Customers are invited to shop the tables and bins of overflow women’s and children’s clothing and fill their provided bag for only $20.
“I’m really excited that the community is just as excited for the event,” Owner Kylecia Lord said.
Valentine’s prizes like gift cards, stickers and some new apparel, will be hidden throughout the clothing for customers to find and enjoy.
“A little bit of everything for everyone to hopefully get their hands out while they check out the event,” Lord said.
Lord said she is excited to host their first ever major event and share the great deals with her community. Only 150 bags are available and customers are encouraged to shop while supplies last. Consignors clothing items will not be a part of the event but are still available for purchase.
Hatcher Pass Thrift hosts over 100 local consigners and carries a wide range of outdoor apparel. Gold said that the business is going better than she could have ever imagined after opening last summer. She has received immense support from the local community and local businesses.
Some of Lord’s biggest compliments are when customers tell her that this is their new favorite store, or when they compare Hatcher Pass Thrift to The Hoarding Marmot in Anchorage. All of her customers share their appreciation for having this opportunity in the Valley.
Hatcher Pass Thrift has become a great neighbor with local businesses like Hatcher Pass Pizza, Little Susinta Coffee, Skeetawk and the Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center. Lord said she is thankful for having such amazing support and for the great location she has at the base of the pass.
“Everyday I meet someone new from the community,” Lord said. “I’ve met some of the workers at Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center, some workers at Skeetawk, and they all say that they’re happy to have me in their neck of the woods. It’s nice to have a dynamic where we’re recommending each other's companies to people in the community that are in need of our services.”
