While Tom Cruise may not be there, local film talent surely will be -- the debut of Sundog Film's Crossing the Rubicon is Dec. 28, at Mat-Su Cinema in Wasilla.
The first showing is being held earlier that day at Colony High School for cast, crew, friends and investors. At 9:30 p.m., the film will make its official big screen debut.
"We're sweating up until the last minute," said director Grant Olson.
Olson said 150 tickets will be available for purchase, beginning at 2 p.m. that day. Tickets are $7 and are available at the Mat-Su Cinema box office.
The producers have given the film an unofficial designation of PG-13, due to adult themes.
The movie has not been reviewed by the MPAA, the organization that gives movies their official ratings.
The movie used Valley people for every aspect of filming.
The movie stars Kelsey Myrvold and David Mead in the leading roles. Supporting roles are played by Steve Treacy, Rachel Underwood and Cynthia Lee, as well as Scott Sterling, Elizabeth Hanson, Craig Sorrie, Barrianne Perkins, Greta Banning, Andrew Goodwin and Latoya Lewis.
The unit production manager was Gini King-Taylor. Rod Mehrtens was director of photography, while the sound was controlled by Danny Hansen.
Jeff Babcock and Jeff Parks were camera operators, while the production designer was Jennifer Raney. Steve Cuthbert served as assistant director. Costumes were designed and coordinated by Mary Putnam.
Larry Bottjen did all of the digital editing, while Jay Dearborn was the composer for the musical score.
