Fire truck rides were great reading motivators

Swanson Elementary would like to extend our gratitude to the Palmer Fire Department and Papa Murphy’s Pizza of Wasilla.

Chief John McNutt and his crew patiently provided fire truck rides for our gold medal readers. This annual event is a great motivator and highlight for so many young students in the Palmer community. Our school purchased pizza for our recent Family Math Night from the Wasilla Papa Murphy’s. District Manager Jessica Holmer brought a small crew with her to assist families with their pizza making. Our students were greatly entertained by the pizza slice mascot, and it was a fun night of learning for all.

Thanks to our awesome Valley neighbors for partnering with us to create positive learning for our youngest students! We are fortunate to live and work in such a caring community.
