WASILLA — It was a night full of fireworks for a pair of local prep football programs.

In Wasilla, giant balls of light filled the sky above Veterans Memorial Field for a post-game homecoming fireworks show. But before that, it was the tight spirals of freshman quarterback Ben Fielder that filled the air.

Fielder, in just his fourth career varsity start, threw four touchdown passes to lead the Warriors to a 58-0 nonconference win over the Houston Hawks.

And up north, Colony used some second-half heroics to turn an eight-point halftime lead into a 42-13 win over the West Valley Wolfpack at West Valley High School in Fairbanks.

For complete coverage of the action, see the Sunday edition of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.
