First COVID-19 close contact case reported in Palmer

The first COVID-19 close contact case has been reported in the Mat-Su Borough.

Department of Health and Social Services officials said the individual is from Palmer. There was no further specific information about the Palmer cases. There are now three positive COVID-19 cases in the Mat-Su Borough, all in Palmer. The first two positive reports in Palmer were travel related.

A total of five new cases were reported Monday. There were two additional cases reported in both Anchorage and Fairbanks. DHSS officials did not announce any additional individuals who needed hospitalization due to coronavirus.

There are now 119 total cases in Alaska, as of Monday.
