ANCHORAGE — The Colony Knights scored nine of their 13 points from the free-throw line in overtime, and edged the Dimond Lynx 56-52 during the first round of the ASAA First National Bank 4A State Basketball Championships at West Anchorage High School on Thursday.
Colony, the No. 2 seed in the tourney, led by 12 points early in the fourth quarter, but the Lynx used a 10-0 run to get back into the game.
Junior Alex Coon scored a team-high 18 points for CHS. Senior Hayley Hotchkiss added 15.
The Knights advance to the semifinals and play the winner of the Palmer-South quarterfinal at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Sullivan Arena.
