PALMER — The Wasilla Warriors rolled to a 79-33 win over Skyview in quarterfinal action at the Northern Lights Conference Championships at Palmer High School.
Dexter Pearce led a balanced Wasilla attack that got at least one field goal from every player in uniform. Tyler Johannes had 11 points and Adrese LaVern added 10 for the Warriors, which outscored the Panthers 27-6 in the third quarter and eventually forced the mercy rule to come into play.
Wasilla hit nine three-pointers, getting four from Pearce, two from Adrese LaVern and one each from Johannes, Jimmy Sliwa and Joel Quenga.
Chad Hatton led Skyview with eight points.
Wasilla now moves into the semifinal round and will play either Kenai or Palmer Friday at 8:15 p.m. The Panthers play the loser of that Palmer-Kenai quarterfinal match at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
