Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Well, today was the big day. It was time to see if all my hard work this past week paid off or if it was time to rethink my strategy. It’s weigh in day.
I overcame the temptation all week long to step on the scale, and now I found myself facing the scale and feeling a bit nervous. What if I didn’t lose anything? What if I actually gained? Enough of the emotional wrestling, just take the plunge and step on already!
8 pounds! I lost 8 pounds in one week! I couldn’t believe it! Maybe there is something to this diet and exercise stuff after all. Maybe Brutal Bill knows what he’s doing.
This gives me so much more resolve to keep going and to keep going back to the AT&T Sports Center for more workouts with trainer Bill, even if his alter ego, Brutal Bill, makes an appearance or two.
I know I can succeed. And I know you can, too.
No workout today as work and other appointments got in the way. I’ll be heading south to Arizona in a few days for a work-related meeting that runs through Sunday. Trainer Bill is researching the fitness facility at the hotel I’ll be staying at and sending me a routine to follow while I’m there. It will be interesting to see how well I can adapt my diet to the usual fare served at conferences and eating out. I’ll be keeping up on my blog while I’m gone, so I’ll keep you posted.
On another note, let’s get the recipe blog going so we can keep each other from getting bored with the same old diet food, okay? I’ve found a few tasty treats that I’ll share and I hope you’ll do the same. I know Greg’s starting to run out of ideas, so let’s help him and our fellow Trim to Winners stay the course.
