In addition to repairing the bank to create spawning areas for fish, volunteers also added more sand to the beach and built a set of steps leading down to the water. Youth crews from the Division of Forestry’s student intern program, the Wasilla Water and Soil Conservation Service, and the borough trails crew also worked together on a similar riverbank restoration project at McRoberts Creek.
