Floating around the Internet? Really Mr. Keller?

To the editor:

Representative Wes Keller is an embarrassment not just to Wasilla, but the whole state. I certainly hope that someone with an iota of critical thinking skills chooses to run against him from either party and I will donate to his or her campaign. Conservative does not have to be synonymous with “ignorant,” folks.

Here is what your representative had to say about a simple resolution honoring the Girl Scouts for 100 years of service. This is from the Anchorage Daily News story headlined “Wasilla representative delays Girl Scout resolution.” His question was addressed to a young intern sitting before the committee on what was supposed to be a routine piece of business.

“I’m sure you are aware of the information that’s floating around the Internet, and I’d like to give you the opportunity to respond to your connection, the Girl Scout connection, with Planned Parenthood and the activist role in that — is there a connection? Is there not? Frankly, I haven’t looked into it, but I see it’s out there. I just wondered if you want to make a statement on that.”

“Floating around the Internet?” Really Mr. Keller? What part of the Internet? The one filled with ghoulish conspiracy theories and the bleating of extremist right-wing sheep like yourself?

For crying out loud, Mr. Keller, give it a rest. This is a resolution honoring the Girl Scouts. It isn’t a mandate from the illuminati to seize your guns.

Something has gone horribly wrong with our nation, and Wes Keller is its personification. Please, Wasilla, in the name of decency and reason, will you please replace this fool?
