Fly fishing movie features Mat-Su streams

The Mat-Su Borough’s fishing streams are featured heavily in a new fly fishing movie called “Cast Alaska,” which premiers in Anchorage May 5-7 at the Alaska Experience Theater.

Cross Current Fishing Adventures, a locally owned production company, filmed and produced the project in Alaska. The film is the first in a series, according to a press release announcing the debut.

The film follows fly fishing enthusiasts in search of a monster 30-inch Alaska rainbow trout.

Cross Current Fishing Adventures was created by brothers Kevin and Sean Morris, along with lead angler Dave Holsman, to produce a series of entertaining and awe-inspiring movies showcasing the thrills and passion that surrounds the art and sport of fly fishing, according to the press release.
