Under the leadership of Secretary Doug Collins, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has reached a historic milestone: over 100,000 new Veterans enrolled in VA health care by March 31, 2026.
This pace outstrips six of the last seven years, signaling a successful shift from a bureaucratic entity to a service-first organization. Since January 2025, the VA has drastically improved its infrastructure and accessibility, including opening 34 new facilities and slashing the benefits backlog by 67%.
With a record $5 billion investment in facility modernization and the highest number of homeless Veterans housed in seven years, the VA continues to expand its capacity to ensure those who served receive the care they earned.
“We have transformed VA from a bureaucratic organization to a service organization, where Veterans come first in everything we do,” said VA Secretary Doug Collins. “These enrollment numbers are proof that Veterans are responding to the historic improvements we are making under President Trump.”
The VA encourages all eligible Veterans, family members, caregivers, and survivors to learn more about VA and apply for health care and earned benefits today.
