Football all-stars face off to benefit children with medical needs

This Saturday, Alaska’s best high school senior football players will meet on the field for one last game, with proceeds from the game benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The 33rd annual Al Aska Shrine North-South All-Star Football Classic is one week after the High School Football Championship Games, and will again be played at The Dome in Anchorage.

Last year’s game was the first ever boys’ football game held indoors.

This year, the event includes the first-ever Girls’ Flag Football Game, too.

Glen Nelson of Wasilla High School will coach this year’s North team and Tim Davis of West High School will coach the South team. Earlier this week the coaches selected players for the teams from high schools throughout the state.

Dozens of businesses from across the state make this event possible through their generous sponsorships.
