Mat-Su Police Beat

January 29 at 11:31 p.m., AST arrested 39-year-old Lafe Wiltbank of Palmer following a disturbance on Sarah Circle in Palmer. Wiltbank was charged with Assault 4 (DV) and taken to MSPT without bail.

January 30 at 3:47 p.m., AST arrested 22-year-old Dylan Capjohn of Kodiak and 30-year-old Monica McFarland of Kodiak following a disturbance along the Parks Highway near mile 49. Both Capjohn and McFarland had outstanding APD warrants and were taken to MSPT.

January 30 at 7:04 a.m., AST arrested 24-year-old Cody Marsh of Wasilla following a road hazard near mile 49 of the Parks Highway. Marsh’s vehicle was identified as stolen out of anchorage and Marsh was charged with Theft 2 and was taken to MSPT without bail.

January 30, AST arrested 38-year-old Agnes Bowers following a welfare check in Wasilla. Bowers was charged with Assault 4 (DV) and Criminal Mischief 5 (DV) and was taken to MSPT.

January 30 at 2:42 p.m., AST arrested 31-year-old Emerson Thompson of Wasilla at Three Bears on Knik-Goose Bay Road. Thompson had active FTA warrants on the O’C’s of Criminal Trespass and DWLR and was additionally charged with Concealment of Merchandise and False Information and was taken to MSPT on $100 cash bail.

January 30, AST arrested 35-year-old Joe Klutts of Wasilla following a disturbance in progress in Wasilla. Klutts was charged with Assault 3 (DV) and Assault 4 (DV) and taken to MSPT.

January 30 at 9:25 p.m., AST arrested 57-year-old Wilbert Bowlin of Palmer following a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence near Dale Circle in Palmer. Bowlin was charged with VCOR and taken to MSPT without bail.

January 30 at 1:41 a.m., AST arrested 21-year-old Jourde Carter of Anchorage after a report of a vehicle in the ditch on South Hartley Drive in Palmer. Carter was arrested for DUI and released O/R.

January 31 at 9:05 a.m., AST arrested 29-year-old Shane Poole of Wasilla following a reported disturbance on Schulz Drive in Wasilla. Poole was taken to MSPT on charges of Assault.

February 1 at 1:16 p.m., AST arrested 23-year-old Joshua Davis of Wasilla on Big Lake Road following an anonymous tip. Davis had an active warrant and was taken to MSPT.

February 1 at 9:00 p.m., AST arrested 30-year-old Wesley Mehalshick of Wasilla following a traffic stop near Bogard Road in Wasilla. Mehalshick had four outstanding warrants for Criminal Trespass 2, Improper use of Registration, Title, and Plates, Theft 3 and No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance and was taken to MSPT on $275 bail.

ALASKA WILDLIFE TROOPERS

January 30, AWT received a report of posts on Facebook of an individual in Palmer feeding moose. AWT cited 43-year-old Angel Bunch of Palmer $320 for Negligently Feeding Game in Palmer Court. The moose had become habituated with people to the point where it was a hazard to public safety so it was dispatched and donated to charity.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

January 18 at 3:22 a.m., WPD arrested 19-year-old Grace Kemp of Wasilla during a security check at MudBusters. Kemp had an outstanding warrant for FTA on the O/C of OUI and was taken to MSPT.

January 18 at 3:19 p.m., WPD arrested Jeremy Herfindahl at Spenard Builders Supply. Herfindahl had a $5,000 felony AST warrant on the O/C of FTC for Theft 2 and was taken to MSPT on $5,000 cash performance bail.

January 18 at 4:15 p.m., WPD arrested 40-year-old Justin Saunders following a report of an active assault at Brown Jug. Saunders was charged with Assault 3, Assault 4, and Disorderly Conduct and taken to MSPT.

January 19 at 5:48 p.m., WPD arrested 37-year-old Joshua Powell of Wasilla following a report of a dangerous driver. Powell was charged with DUI and released O/R.

January 19 at 11:31 p.m., WPD arrested 42-year-old Joseph Mattila of Wasilla following a report of a male with a gunshot wound at the Chevron gas station. Mattila was arrested with the assistance of AST and SERT and charged with Attempted Murder 2, Assault 1, Assault 2, MIW 2, MIW 4 and Reckless Endangerment and taken to MSPT.

January 21 at 1:16 a.m., WPD arrested Dylan McConville for DUI in the parking lot of a church. McConville was issued a summons and released O/R.

January 21, WPD arrested 36-year-old Joseph Atwater of Wasilla at the Grandview Inn. Atwater was charged with Assault 4 and taken to MSPT.

January 21 at 7:26 p.m., WPD charged 30-year-old Courtney Weeks of Wasilla following a reported shoplift in progress at Target. Weeks was charged with Burglary 2, Theft 2 and Concealment of Merchandise through the DAO.

January 22 at 7:15 a.m., WPD arrested 26-year-old Lynwood Miller of Palmer following multiple reports of a dangerous driver on Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla. Miller was charged with Felony DUI, Felony Refusal and Avoidance of an IID and taken to MSPT.

January 22, WPD arrested 36-year-old Janette Salman of Wasilla following a report of trespassing. Salman had an outstanding FTC warrant on the O/C of Assault 4 and was taken to MSPT.

January 22 at 6:11 p.m., WPD arrested 21-year-old Marcus Bundy of Wasilla following a report of a dangerous driver. Bundy was charged with DUI and released O/R.

January 22 at 6:46 p.m., WPD received a report that an unknown suspect stole a package valued at approximately $950 stolen from a residence on Althea Street.

January 2 at 7:45 p.m., WPD arrested 50-year-old Milton Mendez of Wasilla following a traffic stop on the Parks Highway. Mendez was charged with DUI and taken to MSPT.

January 23 at 3:52 a.m., WPD arrested 29-year-old Cecil Skipper of Wasilla at McDonald’s. Skipper had an active warrant for FTC and was taken to MSPT.

January 23 at 9:05 p.m., WPD arrested 39-year-old Travis Houx of Wasilla at Fred Meyer. Houx had an outstanding FTA warrant on the O/C’s of Theft and Criminal Trespass 2 and was taken to MSPT.

January 23 at 6:51 p.m., WPD received a report from a business on the Parks Highway that a counterfeit bill had been passed. This incident is still under investigation.

January 23 at 11:42 a.m., WPD arrested 22-year-old Jakob Gonangnan-Melgreen of Anchorage on charges of Eluding 1, Vehicle Theft 1, Assault 3, Theft 2, DUI and two counts each of Promoting Contraband 1 and MICS 5. Gonangnan-Melgreen was taken to MSPT. WPD also charged 19-year-old Tyler Mangold of Anchorage with Vehicle Theft 1 and Theft 2 and Mangold was taken to MSPT.

January 23 at 11:30 p.m., WPD arrested 19-year-old Mason Sanders of Wasilla following a report of a dangerous driver. Sanders was arrested for DUI and released O/R.

January 24 at 6:38 p.m., WPD arrested 33-year-old Gordon Kamholz of Big Lake following a traffic stop. Kamholz had an active warrant and was taken to MSPT with additional charges of False Information and No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.
