WASILLA — A former local basketball standout can be seen on ESPN3 Saturday morning.
Savanna James, a 2012 graduate of Houston High School, is a member of the Cameron University women’s basketball squad, which will be featured on ESPN3 when the Aggies take on Midwestern State at 11 a.m. Alaska time.

James, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward, is currently in her first season with the Lawton, Oklahoma, Division II program. James has played in 17 games this season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. James scored a career-high 13 points for the Aggies during an 83-71 victory over Tarleton State Jan. 2.
James made Houston High School history as a senior, becoming the first HHS student-athlete to sign a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA early signing period. James originally signed to play for Black Hills State in South Dakota. James was also named second-team all-state as a senior.
Cameron is 14-10 overall this season.
