PALMER — A Palmer woman has been indicted by a grand jury after a local youth hockey association had reported missing money.

A Palmer grand jury indicted Denise Garrettson, 48, on charges of theft in the first degree, fraudulent use of an access device for $25,000 or more, and theft in the second degree, fraudulent use of an access device, over $1,000 but under $25,000.

The investigation followed a report to the Palmer Police made by the Pioneer Amateur Hockey Association board members, who said that a substantial amount of money was missing from the association’s bank account. Garrettson is the association’s former treasurer, according to Palmer Police.

Garrettson is scheduled to be arraigned March 31 in superior court.
